Every pair of yooy glasses is individually designed for you. Using our technology, we precisely measure your face to determine the ideal fit. You then choose the shape, colour, material, lenses, and personal details to create eyewear that’s uniquely yours.

The best part? You don’t need any design experience or an appointment. Your glasses are created directly on your smartphone - from your first idea all the way to your order.

Yes - in more ways than one.

Our frames are crafted from premium Italian bio-acetate. This high-quality material is made primarily from natural, plant-based resources such as cotton and wood fibres, rather than fossil-based materials. At the same time, bio-acetate offers exceptional depth, a beautiful finish, and a premium feel - qualities that have made it the preferred material for premium eyewear for decades.

All other components of our glasses are sourced exclusively from European partners, and every frame is handcrafted in Austria.

Another important difference is that we don’t manufacture for stock. While conventional eyewear is often mass-produced long before it’s sold, every yooy frame is made only after an order has been placed. This approach helps prevent overproduction, reduces transportation distances, and ensures that we produce only what is actually needed.

For us, sustainability means more than choosing the right materials. It means using resources responsibly, supporting regional manufacturing, and creating durable products designed to be enjoyed for many years.

With the yooy Designer, you’re not limited to a predefined collection. Instead of choosing from existing models, you design your own glasses - from the shape and size to the colour, material, and lenses.

Whether you’re looking for women’s or men’s eyewear, a bold statement frame, an understated everyday pair, reading glasses, or sunglasses, the designer gives you almost unlimited creative freedom.

The result isn’t just another pair of glasses - it’s a frame designed to match your style, your face, and your personality.

In principle, yes - with one important caveat.

With adjustable frame widths ranging from approximately 115 mm to 150 mm, it is technically possible to create custom glasses for children.

However, achieving the right fit is especially important for children’s eyewear. Since a child’s facial anatomy - particularly the nose - is still developing, even small differences can have a significant impact on comfort, stability, and fit.

For this reason, we generally recommend that children’s glasses be personally fitted by an optician. This ensures that the glasses fit correctly and meet the individual needs of the child.

For teenagers and young adults, however, yooy glasses are an excellent choice.

At the moment, we do not offer prescription lenses directly.

The reason is simple: high-quality prescription lenses require professional advice and precise fitting. Depending on your prescription, lens type, coatings, and personal requirements, there are many factors that are best determined together with an optician.

Our frames are fully compatible with prescription lenses and can be glazed by virtually any optician.

The easiest approach is to design your custom yooy glasses first and then have your preferred optician fit them with the prescription lenses that best suit your needs. Most opticians offer this service, regardless of where the frame was purchased.

If one optician happens not to provide this service, simply visit another. Fitting prescription lenses into customer-supplied frames is common practice throughout the optical industry.

A pair of yooy glasses is anything but ordinary.

While conventional frames are typically mass-produced, every yooy frame is individually designed and handcrafted for one person only. Each frame is made only after an order has been placed - there is no warehouse stock and no mass production.

We also use premium materials such as Italian bio-acetate, high-quality European components, and traditional craftsmanship in Austria. Every pair goes through numerous manufacturing steps and is individually finished, polished, and assembled by hand.

Another key difference is the fit. Using our technology, we take your unique facial proportions into account to create eyewear that not only looks exceptional but fits exceptionally well.

Ultimately, you’re not simply paying for a pair of glasses. You’re investing in something created exclusively for you - a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece that exists exactly once.

At the moment, yooy is available exclusively for iPhone.

The reason lies in the camera technology and sensors we use to accurately measure the face. These technologies provide the level of precision required to create eyewear tailored to each individual.

An Android version is already in development. However, because the Android ecosystem consists of many different devices, cameras, and hardware configurations, developing the same level of accuracy is considerably more complex than on iOS.

We’re working hard to bring yooy to Android as soon as possible. Until then, we appreciate your patience.

Because every pair of yooy glasses is individually designed by you and handcrafted specifically for you, each frame is considered a custom-made and personalized product.

For this reason, returns or exchanges based solely on personal preference are generally not possible.

We therefore recommend taking your time during the design process and exploring different options before placing your order.

Of course, if your glasses have a manufacturing defect or quality issue, your statutory warranty rights apply. If anything isn’t as it should be, simply get in touch with us - we’ll work with you to find a solution.
